Image Targets: Enchanted Print

For this week’s assignment, I sought to explore the possibilities enabled by AR through an attempt to bring print media to life. There is magic already stitched into these tangible objects, we just need the right tools to find them.To that end, from the outset of my experiments this week, I was committed to using video as the assets rather than 3D objects or characters. The contents of these two compilations, a greatest hits album and a volume of short stories, are only hinted at by the static pictorial representation on their covers. AR gives a user a much deeper view, giving the expression “don’t judge a book by its cover” a whole new meaning.
