Week Four: Chess Anyone?

I think I’m getting it! I’m slowly learning that this process is teaching my brain how to function programmatically, but I outsource the actual computation to the machine.

I thought a chessboard would be a fun and approachable way to consider some of the new techniques for expressing repetition; the number of pieces, their positions, and the grid of 64 squares in alternating colors gave me a meaningful opportunity to internalize how this is coming together. While i’m not interested in extending this into any functioning game (atm), I’m going to use this example to now practice some of the interactions we’ve been learning in previous weeks. I’m also excited to build more game pieces!
